Steiner Elektronik Technologie invests in a second JUKI line

Due to the high customer satisfaction with the JUKI assembly line which went into operation at the end of 2009, Steiner Elektronik Technologie (SET GmbH) decided to invest in another JUKI line in 2012 for its production plant in Rousse, Bulgaria. The line was installed in July with the target to expand capacity and also with the option to assemble large PCBs. To complete the production, SET invested in a JUKI stencil printer GL too. UK EMS company beats Chinese prices with help of JUKI production equipment



There has been a rethink of the supply chain to make the UK more competitive. United EMS has won a £3m contract in competition with Chinese manufacturers, which the UK-based company believes could be the start of high-volume manufacturing coming back to the UK. The business was designed to have a lower overhead cost model from day one. This meant amongst others investment in JUKI production equipment. JUKI Europe reports their best Productronica fair since the foundation of the company



The conclusion of Productronica 2011 witnessed JUKI Europe finish the most successful fair in the 30 year history of the company. In particular, the revolutionary new Sentry system was met with extensive approval, as was the preview of a new trendsetting system shown in the “Secret Room”. After the conclusion of the fair days on Wednesday and Thursday, an impressive display of fireworks illuminated the night sky and delighted thousands of spectators.

The first zero-defect SMT production with a brand new concept



At the Productronica 2011 fair JUKI will present Sentry, a revolutionary concept for the SMT pick and place industry. This concept consists of two modules: SIM and EPV. SIM (strobed inspection module) is a new AIO system which is integrated in the assembly machine and ensures that no misplaced boards will be sent on to the oven and thus avoids subsequent process errors.

JUKI machines perfectly suited for set up of PoP Technology



Traditional SMT assembly is a two dimensional process. Each component is placed on the same horizontal plane in different X and Y locations. In Package on Package (PoP) assembly, components are placed on successively higher layers. Since components are stacked on top of each other traditional solder paste printing cannot be used. With its integrated fluxer module JUKI offers a process-tested solution that allows the placement of POP technology and flip chips.

LED BIN validation & traceability



The increased use of LEDs introduces significant new challenges for the electronic PCB assembler. Separate reels containing the same part number may each have a different brightness index number (BIN). The potential for aesthetic defects is introduced if the BIN from one reel to the next is incompatible. Traditional methods for component traceability and line setup validation are not sufficient to assure quality. Now, a new approach has been introduced by Cogiscan and JUKI Automation Systems. The system delivers a higher level of process control and traceability during PCB assembly and integrates with functional test to enable automatic product calibration.

    Traceability Light



    The third and new traceability solution is called “Traceability Light”. This version can be combined with the RFID or barcode version of feeder intelligence. The main difference for traceability is that there will be batch traceability only, instead of scanning every PCB barcode.     The first FX-3 Installation in Europe at M.E.C. srl. in Italy

    The FX-3, new Super High-speed Mounter of JUKI, was presented in Italy for the first time at the BIAS exhibition in Milan, which was held from 27. to 30. May and has attracted wide interest from Italian customers. The machine was sold directly from the show to M.E.C. srl., a loyal JUKI customer from the Brescia region. It was delivered right after the exhibition and installed during the first week of June.
